You can find valerian root in capsule or liquid form at your local vitamin shop or specific holistic grocery stores such as whole foods. I have also found this herb in tea products. Kava is also known as a natural remedy for anxiety. The roots of the plant are used to produce a drink with sedative and anesthetic properties. Kava is sedating and is primarily consumed to relax without disrupting mental clarity. Its active ingredients are called kavalactones. Systematic reviews concluded it was likely to be more effective than placebo at treating short-term social anxiety. Kava can be found in several forms, such as liquid drops or capsule forms. It is also found in many teas such as "Sleepytime Tea" which they sell at most grocery store chains located in the coffee/tea aisle.
